Reports to Chief Marketing Officer
We are looking for a Data Scientist who will support our product, sales, leadership and marketing teams with insights gained from analyzing company data. The primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with our products.
The Data Scientist has also to drive the technical direction for personalization and other machine learning applications, working with product to set the feature roadmaps and with data and software engineering to develop the data and service platform infrastructures.
The Data Scientist:
Conduct practical research with a scientific mindset, and a focus on delivery;
Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions;
Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques;
Data mining using state-of-the-art methods;
Extending company’s data with third party sources of information when needed;
Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems;
Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis;
Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner;
Lead team data science initiatives, such as price and buying optimizations, discount recommendations and order return predictions;
Analyze data and features, explain trade-offs of various solutions and build sophisticated algorithms and models for pricing-related forecasts and recommend systems, such as demand, returns, cancellations, and discounts;
Drive problem definitions by working closely with product and business to understand the requirements, define critical metrics and set expectations;
Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, and targeting and other business outcomes.
Strong problem solving skills with an emphasis on product development
Great communication skills
Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, Asp.net etc.) to manipulate data, and draw insights from large data sets
Experience working with and creating data architectures and databases queries
Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks
Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, etc.
Experience analyzing data from 3rd party providers: Analytics & CRM Tools, Digital Platform and Data Visualization Tools
Familiarity with all the latest predictive modeling and classification techniques
Experience dealing with large amounts of data and building data pipelines
Proficiency in the latest technologies and processes to transform an insight into a model and to deploy a highly scalable service
Agile framework scrum for managing software development cycle and to manage project
Strong English and Italian skills, both written and spoken
